In getting swept at home by the Dodgers, the Twins passed the halfway point of the season with a 38-44 record. That's two games worse than their 40-42 record at this same point last year, although the bar for entry into the American League playoff field looks likely to be considerably lower this time around.
Coming into this season, both FanGraphs and Baseball Prospectus projected the Twins for 78 wins and third-place in the AL Central. Midway through the season, the Twins are on pace for 75 wins and third-place in the AL Central. How they've gotten there closely resembles preseason expectations (and concerns) as well.
