Back by popular demand: Link-O-Rama!
For those of you who weren't around 25 years ago for the original AG.com days, Link-O-Rama was a regular feature in which I linked to articles, videos, and other random things that interested me throughout the week. It was also a way for me to share personal stuff, site announcements, and other housekeeping items.
I'm not sure I realized at the time just how much readers enjoyed it, but the two decades since then have been filled with semi-regular instances of people asking me to bring it back. Specifically, my friend Dana Wessel of the 93X morning show has requested its return on a weekly basis since the day we met. You win, Dana.
I went digging in the old site's archives and found the last Link-O-Rama was on June 19, 2015, so you'll have to forgive some rustiness. Like a starting pitcher on the first day of spring training, my goal is to gradually increase my pitch counts to be fully stretched out in six weeks or so. Don't judge my ERA in the meantime.
You'll also need to forgive some sappiness, just this once.
I was super nervous about launching the new site this week, and a little bit sad about leaving The Athletic even though I felt confident I was making the correct decision. But your support has absolutely blown me away. And beyond that, I've been overwhelmed by all the kind words and help promoting the new spot.
I had set what I thought was an optimistic long-term subscription goal, hoping to reach it within the first 12 months of independence. We topped it on Day 1, which turned a scary day into one of the best days of my life. I'll never forget the feeling of watching the subscription emails roll in and realizing this was going to work.
Thank you. I'm so excited about what we can turn this place into together.
