Thursday morning, before the Twins' series finale against the Guardians, owner Tom Pohlad invited a group of reporters to his Target Field suite for an informal conversation over breakfast. It's part of his ongoing effort to improve messaging to fans, increase his presence around the team, and normalize media availability.
(In the interest of full disclosure: There was a small buffet and I took two slices of French toast, two strips of bacon, a spoonful of home fries, and a bottle of water.)
Portions of the hour-plus question-and-answer session were understood to be on the record, while much of it was explicitly considered off the record to allow for a free-flowing discussion.
