Where should No. 3 pick Vahn Lackey rank compared to Walker Jenkins, Kaelen Culpepper, and Emmanuel Rodriguez? Who are the system's biggest risers?

Twins midseason top 20 prospects: Lackey joins mix, Houston rises, Prielipp graduates

Walker Jenkins, Kaelen Culpepper, and Emmanuel Rodriguez might already be in the majors if not for injuries, but the Twins' top three prospects coming into this season each maintain their prospect status at the All-Star break. Connor Prielipp and Mick Abel are the only members of my preseason Twins top 20 to graduate.

That means the Twins' farm system as a whole is climbing national rankings, with Baseball America's midseason update placing them No. 7. And that was before the Twins added another premium prospect in the just-completed draft by selecting Georgia Tech catcher Vahn Lackey with the No. 3 pick.

Lackey's arrival and the All-Star break make this a good time to update my Twins prospect rankings by waving goodbye to graduates, welcoming new draftees, and evaluating first-half performances. And with the trade deadline looming, having a fresh view of the system's top talents is essential to assessing potential deals.

Here's my updated, midseason 2026 ranking of the Twins' top 20 prospects.

1. Walker Jenkins, CF

Preseason ranking: No. 1
Current level: Triple-A St. Paul
